eGRF Calculators
| There are cellphone apps and calculators to calculate an eGFR as a screening method. In adults, the NIDDK recommends estimating glomerular filtration rate (GFR) from serum creatinine using either the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD) Study equation (IDMS-traceable version) or the Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI) equation. Equations for use in the US and outside the US can be found on the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) website and the National Kidney Foundation website.
