Nutrition Care Process and Terminology: A Practical Approach is unique! Comprised of three integrated components this learning tool provides a step-by-step approach to skill development in the use of the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology. The case studies have been designed to facilitate the acquisition of core knowledge and skills for dietetic practice. They develop both fundamental and complex dietetic skills which can be applied to broader practice. As well, they build in complexity and allow users to develop their knowledge and skills progressively.

Case 1 addresses adult weight management in the context of Mr Robertson, a 65-year-old man whose family doctor is concerned about his recent weight gain. Students will receive 18 months of online access to the case study.

Community Nutrition Public Health Weight Management

The PublicHealth -Community Nutrition includes activities for students to learn to use the databases and reports that are available to assess a Linn County, Iowa using communities characteristics, resources, walkability, healthy food access, disease prevalence, and other behavioral indicators.  The student then summarizes the Assessment, identifies a aim/goal for the next three years, identifies an approach and strategy and specific dietitian activities, and indicators to monitor progress.  This is summarized in an executive summary for the County Board of Health and students make a video to answer a question from the Board on why their project should be funded.
